After more than a year at the head of his eponymous house, both creatively and commercially speaking, Alexander Wang announced that he renounces to the title of CEO. Replaced by Lisa Gersh, former executive director of Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand “Goop”, Wang will remain creative director and chairman of the management board, henceforth joined by Gersh.

The company also appointed Farfetch’s former marketing director Stephanie Horton to the new position of strategy director.

Alexander Wang announced that he would like to highlight his current strategy of productivity and diversification in a swiftly evolving environment in which the house is constantly challenged.

If Wang has initiated change by progressively animating his business (from the “democratic” catwalk to its longstanding collaboration with Adidas Originals), the two women should help the brand to establish a real dialogue with the customer, especially from a retail, online and offline perspective.
